Angel "Cachete" Maldonado, a highly respected percussionist who has recorded with just about every major Latin band (Batacumbele, Descarga Boricua, Larry Harlow, Tipica '73, Plena Libre, Tito Puente and on and on...) is a national treasure in Puerto Rico, and can play congas and batá like no other.
